On March 27, 2026, something powerful happened in Kayole, Nairobi.
What began as a one-day outreach initiative quickly turned into a moment of transformation for an entire community. Organized by Nuru Global Outreach, the Youth Skills Training & Food Support Outreach brought together young people, children, and community leaders for a day filled with learning, support, and renewed hope.
From early morning, participants gathered at Grace Tabernacle Church with expectation. Many were refugee youth facing daily challenges – limited opportunities, uncertainty about the future, and a lack of access to essential resources. Yet, what they found that day was more than just training. They found direction.
When faith meets action, lives are transformed.
Throughout the day, sessions focused on practical life skills, entrepreneurship, and personal development. Participants were guided through topics such as decision-making, financial literacy, and building small businesses — equipping them with tools not just to survive, but to grow.
Beyond the training, the atmosphere was filled with encouragement and purpose. Mentorship sessions and moments of reflection helped inspire confidence and a renewed sense of identity among the youth.
At the same time, another vital part of the outreach was taking place – providing care and support to vulnerable children. Through food distribution and hygiene support, dozens of children received not only essential assistance but also a sense of dignity and attention often missing in their daily lives.
What stood out most was the overwhelming response.
More than 150 youth participated, exceeding the initial expectation of 100. Additionally, 75 vulnerable children were supported – a clear sign of the urgent need within the community.
While the high turnout stretched available resources, it also revealed something deeper: a strong desire for opportunity, growth, and support.
This outreach was not just an event. It was a reminder that when people are given the right tools, guidance, and encouragement, transformation begins.
